Questions & Answers

Origin Story: In a couple sentences, how would you describe your path to becoming an investor?

I am your typical finance guy & startup founder who has built an extensive network of other finance guys & startup founders over the years.

Investment Approach: What are the key factors you consider when evaluating a founding team?

IQ, EQ and a well-rounded team.

What's your style and approach when it comes to working with founders post-investment? What are the characteristics of founders you've worked well with?

It depends on the founder and stage of the company, but I tend to be fairly hands off unless asked. Founders I've worked well with are good at asynchronous communication and real-time problem solving.

If I'm coming to pitch to you or your firm, what's the one piece of advice you'd give me?

Keep it simple like sushi.

How would you describe your own personal mission and values, and how do they impact the way you invest?

I invest in people with a disruptive vision, who are making well-executed products and solving hard problems.

What do you like best about investing in NYC, and what’s your outlook on the future of NYC tech?

I think NYC startup founders are able to pull from the diverse and dynamic energy of the city to build companies with investors that have a very deep and broad perspective on their respective markets.
